Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2018/2019

A day in Aula Magna

2018 has been a special year, full of events!

The University of Bergamo celebrated 50 years since its foundation, on December 11th, 2018.
On this day, the Rector Remo Morzenti Pellegrini inaugurated the academic year 2018/2019 n the Aula Magna di Sant'Agostino.

Thanks to the "Gaetano Donizetti" Conservatoire of Bergamo, directed by Pieralberto Cattaneo, celebration day ended with a selection of magnificent Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s compositions.

Two guests of honor made the day even more special:
the Presidente emerito della Corte Costituzionale, Prof. Paolo Grossi, and the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economics, Jean Tirole, who, on this very occasion, has been awarded the honorary doctorate in economic science.

The Aula Magna restoration has been recently completed: the inauguration of the academic year happens to be the perfect moment to celebrate the special location and to restore this historic monument to the university and the city.
