Teachers and staff mobility

Teachers mobility

Erasmus+ for teachers

The EU Erasmus+ programme allows teachers to carry out a period of teaching activity at a foreign higher education institution that has already signed a bilateral agreement with the University of Bergamo. It also allows them to host experts from foreign companies for teaching activities.

Mobility teachers will be recognised for their teaching period abroad.

Eligibility
The programme is open to staff from higher education institutions holding the European Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and staff from companies in one of the participating countries. More specifically, eligible teachers are:

  • full professors;
  • associate professors;
  • contract professors;
  • researchers;
  • research fellows

At the time of mobility, the teacher/assistant must have an ongoing contract with the University of Bergamo, while teaching staff coming from a company must be in service with the company to which they belong.

Duration
Minimum: 2 days and 8 hours of teaching. Maximum: 2 months.

EU subsidies
A travel and accommodation subsidy (board, lodging and local transport) are provided. The travel subsidy is calculated on the basis of scales of unit costs per distance bracket. The subsidy for accommodation is determined considering the country of destination.
For disabled teachers, specific additional EU contributions are available.

Applications
In view of the deadlines imposed by the Erasmus+ Italy National Agency, applications from teachers must be submitted to the International Programmes Office in the spring of the previous academic year. Before departure, the teacher must define the Teaching Programme.
Company staff will instead be contacted upon invitation by the University of Bergamo.

Before the departure
Before the departure, the teacher must define the Teaching Programme or Teaching/Training. This document will be sent by email directly to the teachers concerned.

At the end of the mobility period
At the end of the mobility period, the teacher must be issued with a certificate of attendance specifying the lessons held, the days attended and the total teaching hours. Those taking part in a training programme must also be issued with a certificate of completion of the training course, indicating the days, hours and subjects attended.

Please remember that for 2020-21, the Erasmus programme ends on 30th September 2022.

Staff mobility

Erasmus+ for staff

The University of Bergamo, through the funds provided by the Erasmus+ programme, also promotes technical-administrative staff mobility, allowing them to spend a training period abroad at a higher education institution.

Eligibility
The concerned staff must check the list of host Universities and autonomously get in touch with the foreign body at which they have decided to spend their training period.
To be eligible for the grant, the applicant must submit a work plan already agreed upon between the University of Bergamo and the host institution. The work plan must be drawn up according to the outline provided in the application form.

Duration
Minimum: 2 working days. Maximum: 2 months. Two additional return trip days must be included in the calculation.

The University will finance up to 5 days of mobility (3/4 activity plus ½ of return trip) regardless of the duration of the mission.

EU subsidies
A travel and accommodation subsidy (board, lodging and local transport) are provided. The travel subsidy is calculated on the basis of scales of unit costs per distance bracket. The subsidy for accommodation is determined considering the country of destination.

Applications
The applicant must submit the application form (form attached to the call), also signed by the reference person. In addition to the application, whose format may be downloaded as an annex to this call, signed by the applicant and, by way of authorisation, by the reference person in charge, the following must be enclosed:

  • CV, with indication of any previous mobility periods done;
  • cover letter explaining the motivation to carry out a mobility to the identified Institution, including the details of the Institution, the reference to the proposed work plan and the period in which the mobility is intended to take place;
  • if available, letter of acceptance from the host institution.

The application, filled in in all its parts, specifying only one destination and including the work plan, must be submitted to the International Programmes Office by the deadline set in the call.
