As part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), a number of two-year activities targeting non-EU regions have been funded. These projects, called Transnational Education (TNE), have the overall goal of promoting cooperation with foreign universities to encourage the internationalization of Italian universities and to promote the Italian higher education model as a best practice internationally.

In this regard, the University of Bergamo participates in the LEGO project, which includes some of our partner institutions in East Asia.

Students from the University of Bergamo can carry out mobility at partner institutions in China, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea through participation in project the LEGO - Italy-East Asia Cooperation from Local Expertise to Global Outlook coordinated by Ca' Foscari University of Venice. In the same way, the University of Bergamo will host visiting students from the partner institutions for one semester.

LEGO enables students to gain valuable language and cultural skills and enhance their knowledge in fields as humanities, science-technology and business and management, as well, while also earning international qualifications that will boost their competitiveness in the job market.

Faculties and researchers can also participate in training activities, with the aim of experimenting with common and innovative teaching methods, thus contributing to the strengthening of exchange programmes and long-term innovative education.
