Language certifications recognition

Language proficiency assessment

To apply to a mobility for study call for applications, it is essential that students satisfy the language requirements set by the host institution of their choosing.

Erasmus+ Mobility for study call for applications
  • KA131 Erasmus Programme

To check the language requirements of each institution, please see the tables with all available institutions for a.y. 2024-2025.

Please note: Host institutions and language requirements will roughly remain the same for a.y. 2025-2026, however there could be some variations. Therefore, it is important to regularly check this page, as all potential updates regarding host institutions will be published here.

Computer-based language assessment tests

Passing the computer-based language assessment test is mandatory in order to satisfy the language requirements that are necessary to apply to a mobility call. The Unibg computer-based language assessment test is not a foreign language exam included in students’ study plans, but a specific test that, once passed, will allow students to meet the language requirements needed to apply to the mobility calls.

Warning: To take the Unibg computer-based language test, you must register by filling in the form available at this page (ITA Version). Registrations for the test will be possible until all available places are filled per time slot and will be open until five working days prior to the test date. Late registrations will not be allowed.

Please note: students with learning difficulties or other disabilities, who may need additional time and/or specific arrangements in order to take the test, are kindly asked to contact the office in charge ([email protected]) no later than 10 days before the test date.

Each student may register for a maximum of two time slots per date, and should he or she fail the test on the first try, may retake the test on one or more subsequent dates, provided that the above rule is observed. It is possible to take the test at any of the available locations, regardless of whether the student normally attends lectures there.

Registration is mandatory for every test one decides to take. If a student wishes to take two tests on the same day, he or she will have to register for both time slots.

Computer-based tests are available for the following proficiency levels:

  • ENGLISH B1/B2
  • FRENCH B1/B2
  • SPANISH B1
  • GERMAN B1/B2
  • RUSSIAN B2

The tests are entirely computer-based, last approximately 50 minutes and are divided into the following sections: listening, reading comprehension, grammar and writing.

Please note: In the event in which the host institution requires a higher language proficiency level than the one available for the computer-based language assessment test, and no exemption is available, students are required to first pass the test, and then have a supplementary oral interview. The dates of the supplementary interviews will be published on this page at the beginning of 2025.

To book the test, it is mandatory to fill in the relevant REGISTRATION FORM (available on the ITA version of this page).

Please note: Students may register for a maximum of two time slots per date. Any additional registrations will be automatically dismissed to allow other students to book the test. To fill in the form, students must be logged in to their Unibg e-mail account.

Registrations normally close five working days before the test date, unless all available places are filled. In that case, the form will be closed early. Please note that late registrations will not be possible.

Test results will be published exclusively on this page, approximately within 7 days of the test date and will NOT appear on students’ dashboards.

Please note that students must provide a valid identity document in order to be able to take the test.
