The objectives of this initiative are, in particular, to:

• develop and implement a joint, integrated long-term strategy to deliver education, research, and outreach services, with the aim of supporting the digital transition and environmental sustainability while addressing the major social, economic, and cultural challenges of the regions involved;

• establish a European inter-university higher education campus where students, doctoral candidates, and society as a whole can benefit from seamless mobility opportunities (physical, blended, or virtual learning) to study, train, teach, conduct research, work, or share services across any of the partner institutions;

• deliver new joint, flexible, and innovative study programmes across all three cycles (Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels), as well as at all post-graduate levels, spanning a wide range of disciplines and fields, including micro-credentials;

• create European knowledge-generating teams, using a challenge-based approach, bringing together students and academics alongside researchers, entrepreneurs, businesses, local and regional stakeholders, and civil society actors to collaboratively address societal and other complex challenges through an interdisciplinary approach.

BAUHAUS4EU is built on the values of the New European Bauhaus - Beautiful, Sustainable, Together - while placing a strong emphasis on the regional dimension as a driver of European transformation. The Alliance believes that universities can generate lasting impact by working closely with their surrounding ecosystems and by addressing the specific social, environmental, cultural and economic challenges of their regions.

Through collaboration with local authorities, businesses, cultural organisations, civil society and citizens, BAUHAUS4EU promotes place-based, challenge-driven education, research and innovation. This approach strengthens the connection between universities and their communities, encouraging the co-creation of sustainable solutions that can be transferred and scaled across Europe.
