Competitions and selections

Applications for the admission to the selection process must be submitted within the peremptory date specified in the related call. The participation in the call will only be accepted by online application, following the instructions provided on the page of the University of Bergamo website www.unibg.it/PhDadmission. 

At the end of the procedure, confirmation that the application has been entered will be sent to the e-mail address indicated by the candidate; it is the candidate's responsibility to verify the correct receipt of the confirmation email.

Claims for any malfunctions to the IT system will not be accepted; applicants are therefore asked to complete the application well in advance, within and not later than the closing date. Any applications submitted with any other procedure than the one specified above will not be considered valid.

The communication of the test date provided in attachment A of this call constitutes a notification for all purposes. Any changes in the date of the interview will be notified to the selected applicants with at least 10 days notice by means of an official communication published on www.unibg.it/PhDadmission. 

The selection will occour by evaluation of qualifications and interviews.

Evaluation of qualifications and interviews

The PhD Selection Board will make the selection in two phases:

  • 1st phase: evaluation of academic qualifications and documents provided with assignment of a maximum score of 60 points;
  • 2nd phase: applicants who in the 1st phase achieved not less than 42/60 in the academic qualifications evaluation are also admitted to the oral test; the oral test is passed if the applicant achieves a score of at least 21/30. The oral test may also be taken, if possible and according to the Board’s decision, by video conference and in foreign language at the applicant’s prior request, and consists in any case in the assessment of the applicant’s knowledge of at least one foreign language.

If not previously specified by this call for applications, the call for participation in the oral test must take place at least 10 days before the scheduled examination date.
