When should you arrive? ( First/winter Semester)

  • Italian Intensive courses start on September 1st, 2026
  • Welcome Meeting is on September 10th, 2026
  • Classes start 14th September 2026  (Departments of Economics, Management, Engineering and Law)
  • Classes start 21st September 2026 (Departments of Foreign languages, Social and Human Science, Letters Philosophy and Communication.
  • Classes finish  approx. 18th  December 2026 

(Please consider that exams will start in January every year)

Exam period

  • First/winter semester:  two exams intakes one in January  2027 and one in February 2027 (approx. will end around 15th February)
  • Second/spring semestere: two exams intakes one in June 2027 and one in July 2027

You can freely choose when to take exams.

When will the exam calendar be published?

It will be published at the beginning of each semester.

When can I leave the University of Bergamo?

As soon as you have passed your last exam you can arrange an appointment with the Erasmus office to check your career and sign your departure certificate.

The 2026-2027 Academic Calendars are available 

Academic Calendars at the University of Bergamo depend on the Department where you are going to study. 
Here you can find the Academic Calendars divided for each Department.

Start of the First Semester 2026-2027:

  • Departments of Economics, Magagement, Law,  Engineering : 14th September
  • Philosophy and Communication, Human and Social Sciences:  Foreing Langauges, Letters, 21st September

The lectures and exams of the bachelor’s, master’s and single-cycle master’s degree courses in the a.y. 2026-27  will take place exclusively in person at the University.

The Course catalogue is a web application which allows to search for all the Courses offered by the University. 

The University of Bergamo offers to Incoming Erasmus/Exchange students a wide choice of courses at the Bachelor and Master level. The list of courses is updated once a year (in July) by each Department.

LEARNING AGREEMENT BEFORE MOBILITY

After checking the Course catalogue, fill in the before mobility Learning Agreement and make sure to enter the  correct course code, course title, semster and credits. 

The before mobility Learning Agreement need to be approved by the Erasmus/Exchange student, the Home University Coodinator and then send to the University of Bergamo International Office for final approval and signature according to the deadlines listed as follow:

  • August 8th (1st semester/full academic year) 
  • December 19th (2nd semester)

Table A and B are compulsory and must be completed in detail.

- Incoming Erasmus students can select units from all departments keeping in mind that at least 50% of the chosen teaching units must belong to the study field of the agreement under which they have been nominated.

- Incoming Exchange students can freely pick up courses from each department with no restrictions.

- The University of Bergamo offers to Incoming Erasmus/Exchange students a wide choice of courses at the Bachelor and Master level. The list of courses is updated once a year by each Department. Our degree courses are made up of teaching units

How can you submit your Learning Agreement?

Once you complete your registration on our website and the application on Mobility Online, you can start submitting your OLA or a pdf version of your before mobility L.A.

Access your Mobility Online account and go to the section "Before the mobility - Learning Agreement"

By clicking on "confirm" you can select what type of document you will send us:
- PDF version of the document (if you select this option you will be asked to upload the pdf file, duly signed from you and your Home University)
- Digital LA (in this case you will only select this option and your University portal will send us your DLA)

Please note: a PDF version of your Learning Agreement, this must respect either your Home University format or the standard one that you can find below. Other format will not be accepted. The Learning Agreement should be typed and not handwritten.

Please do not send learning agreement via email.

CREDITS

Students coming for full Academic Year need to sign up maximum 60 credits (minimun 36 CFU) and students coming for one semester maximum 30 credits (minimun 18 CFU).

Students can choose exams from the entire Catalogue of university courses, also from different departments without restriction, as long as the 50% of courses are held in the department in which the student is officially enrolled.

Incoming students should have a minimum of knowledge of Italian to allow them to attend classes and exams. The minimum recommended level is A2 of the Common European Language  Framework -  CEFR

Before the beginning of each semester, Intensive preparatory Italian Language courses are offered. They last one/two weeks and they are free of charge. They are not mandatory but highly recommended. No credits will be assigned. 

During the semesters, General Italian Language Courses and special courses are organized at CIS (Centro di Italiano per Stranieri) to help students improve their language competencies.  The courses are free of charge and at the beginning of the semester, a Placement Test is held.
In this case credits will be assigned and registered in the final Transcript of Records.

Apartment Accommodation

As Erasmus/Exchange student you will be given the chance to rent a flat through the Accommodation Service of the University of Bergamo.

Please check Cercoalloggio webpage,  login with id and pw given by University during the application procedure and check the list of available rooms.

Before you apply for accommodation, please make sure you have first completed the Erasmus Admission/Registration procedure  with the  International Office.

Housing applications are processed only by the Accommodation Office  and the International Office has no influence on that process.

 

ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS will open:

After June 1st: Applicants nominated  for the 1st semester (Winter Semester) or Full Academic year

After November 1st: Applicants nominated for the 2nd Semester (Spring Semester)

Erasmus Students will be informed by email when the bookings will be available.

All students have to pay a deposit fee to be refunded at the end of tenancy.
Rents are to be paid to the owners at the beginning of each month.

The contract registration fee and withdraw fees are approximately 100 euros each.
At the end of your study period, you will be required to pay a final cleaning .

The Accommodation Service supports Erasmus (KA 103 and KA107)/Exchange Students in finding accommodation in private apartments and in signing related contracts.

Temporary Accommodation
If you need an accommodation for the first few days, you can easily find:

Non-resident individuals  need to obtain a tax code must get the ‘codice fiscale’ from AGENZIA DELLE ENTRATE once they are arrived in Italy.

Students can also apply for the Italian codice fiscale at the Italian consular authority in their country before departing.
