Task force AI
The AI Task Force is a permanent internal coordination body of the University of Bergamo, established as of 1 January 2026.
Its role is to oversee, guide and coordinate the University’s activities in the field of artificial intelligence, in line with EU Regulation 2024/1689, national and European legislation, and the University’s strategic guidelines on innovation and digitalisation.
It is designed as a cross-functional structure, not limited to a single office, but intended to bring together legal, technical, organisational and data protection expertise.
The AI Task Force supports the University in the introduction and correct, responsible, transparent and ethically compliant use of artificial intelligence tools.
In particular, it provides technical and regulatory support for the University’s decision-making processes; monitors and assesses the artificial intelligence systems used by the University, including with regard to risk classification, algorithmic transparency and compliance with ethical and legal principles.
It works with administrative units to define internal policies, guidelines, standards and procedures for the use of artificial intelligence. It also provides support to offices on matters relating to personal data protection, civic access, transparency and the impact of new technologies.
The Task Force may prepare technical and organisational opinions on the introduction, assessment and management of artificial intelligence systems. It also promotes training and information activities for technical-administrative staff, academic staff and researchers, with the aim of encouraging a conscious and regulated use of AI.
