PhD School
The PhD School, established in 2013 and provided for by the current Statute of the University of Bergamo, is responsible for organizing and coordinating the University’s activities in the field of doctoral level advanced education, in compliance with current regulations and with reference to the Regulations governing doctoral programs, the University’s Strategic Plan, and the guidelines approved by the Academic Senate and the Board of Directors.
The School aims, in collaboration with the Departments, to achieve better organization and coordination of teaching and research activities, as well as to promote quality assurance in doctoral programs.
The governing bodies of the School are the Board and the Director.

The School organizes cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses and activities for all students enrolled in the doctoral programs, including inter-university programs. The aim is to foster the acquisition of skills in order to facilitate their transfer and development in both scientific and professional contexts.

Speaker Coaching Training Organized by the TEDxBERGAMO Association

The training will be conducted through a combination of practical activities and primarily theoretical sessions, focusing on public speaking techniques and the development of an engaging talk.

The new edition of the seminar series “Giving Value to Research” aims to provide the scientific community of our University and the students of the Doctoral School with update and training pathway designed to enhance awareness and understanding of how to identify the most suitable funding programs for their research area and scientific-professional goals, how to address essential aspects of project proposal writing, and how to maximize the value of their research while safeguarding intellectual property, adhering to research ethics, and increasing its dissemination effectiveness.

Every year the PhD Day is held, an event that includes a welcome for newly enrolled students, the graduation ceremony for new PhD graduates, and the Poster Gallery, during which second-year students present their research projects.
Each year, the event also hosts a guest of honor.
