A spin-off is an entrepreneurial initiative that stems from a research activity. When the object of university research can become marketable, the researchers involved may decide to become real entrepreneurs, thus founding a spin-off company.
People working at the University can found a spin-off, provided that there is at least one permanent staff member in the entrepreneurial organizational chart. The spin-off is created upon approval by the University, which can consider participating in its capital as a founding partner.
The spin-off is covered by an agreement with the University of Bergamo for the first three years of its existence. This agreement allows the spin-off to access dedicated facilities and services provided by the University.
