MA Degree European and Pan-American Languages and Literatures + MA Degree in Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft

Partner: Ruhr Universität Bochum (D)
Level: Master's degree
Coordinator: Prof. Elena Agazzi

The double degree agreement provides an integrated study program that allows students enrolled in the Master degree course LM 37 European and Pan-American Languages and Literatures to spend two semesters during the second year of study at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany), thus earning at the end of their study both the Italian MA Degree and the foreign MA Degree Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft (Comparative Studies).

Interested students can participate in the program, provided that at the moment of application they have acquired at least 10 ECTS (CFU) during the winter exam session for first year classes and they can demonstrate the necessary language skills: at least C1 level (or equivalent) in a European language (Russian included). C1 proficiency in German is preferable.

Any student leaving for Bochum in September is required to have obtained at least 40 ECTS (CFU) concerning first year courses. Applications must be submitted by the deadline specified in the announcement of selection to be published in January. The stay at Ruhr-Universität Bochum compulsorily concerns the third and fourth semester, i.e. the second year of the MA degree course. The Master’s thesis, to be agreed with the professors at the University of Bergamo before departure, will be discussed once back in Bergamo.

Students are required to follow a study plan as agreed between the co-ordinators of the partner universities. The study plan is published in the announcement of selection.

The available posts are 5. No tuition fees or insurance contributions are to be paid by students at the host University. Access to the canteen, to transportation and accommodation depend on the terms provided by the partner institution.
