Admission requirements

Applicants may apply for a PhD program without nationality restrictions if, at the cut-off date of the call for applications, they have obtained one of the following degrees:

  • Bachelor degree obtained according to the relevant regulations before the entry into force of Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999,
  • Specialization degree (Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999),
  • Master’s degree (Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004) or eligible foreign qualification.
Conditional Admission

Applicants who obtain the qualification required for the admission within the deadline set by the related call may also apply: in that case the admission to the selection will be conditional and the applicant will have to send to the Students’ Office account [email protected], under penalty of expiration, a declaration in lieu of certificate duly signed by the applicant under art. 46 of Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28.12.2000 within 5 days after obtaining the degree.

Foreign qualifications eligibility

The eligibility of a foreign qualification is assessed by the PhD Selection Board according to the current regulations in Italy and in the country that issued the qualification and to the international treaties or conventions on the recognition of foreign qualifications for academic purposes.

For the eligibility of a foreign qualification that has not been declared equivalent to an Italian 2nd-level degree, foreign applicants – solely for the purpose of being admitted to the PhD program they intend to apply for – will have to upload within the online application procedure the documents required by the announcement.
